CLEVELAND (AP) ? A Cleveland official says three women who survived a decade-long kidnapping ordeal are beginning to get lawyers to help with compensation.
City Councilman Brian Cummins says the lawyers will become a primary point of contact for the victims as money pours into a charitable fund.
Cummins said Saturday that the lawyers will help keep focus on the victims' needs and ensure the integrity of the donation process.
He says the Ohio Attorney General's Office has taken the lead in communicating with the women over compensation issues.
The women were rescued from a Cleveland house Monday after disappearing years earlier. A suspect is jailed on rape and kidnapping charges.
