2012 NCAA Baseball, Georgia Tech Vs. Florida Final Score: Yellow Jackets Eliminated, Fall To Gators 15-3

Georgia Tech advanced to the finals of the Gainesville Regional to face Florida, but on Sunday afternoon it was all Florida who defeated Georgia Tech 15-3 and eliminated them from the post season. The pitching for Georgia Tech struggled against Florida as starter Jake Davies gave up five hits, four walks, seven runs -- six earned -- including a three-run shot by Mike Zunino in only two innings.

Davies replacement was Josh Heddinger who did not fair any better as he lasted only 2.2 innings while giving up eight earned runs, and when he left the game in the fifth inning Florida had a commanding 15-1 lead.

Georgia Tech's offense was unable to keep pace with Florida as their starting pitcher Brian Johnson held Georgia TEch to only three hits and one run in five innings. The rest of the Florida staff held Georgia Tech in check and allowed just a pair of runs over the final four innings.

Playing two games in one day did not help, but the way Florida's offense was going no team would have been able to slow them down on Sunday.
