The year's most anticipated new arrival is finally here: Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z (nee Shawn Carter) welcomed Ivy Blue Carter, a healthy baby girl, into the world on Saturday (January 7) in New York at Lenox Hill Hospital, according to E! News.
Beyoncé surprised and delighted fans around the world back in August when she not-so-subtly announced her pregnancy on our very own VMA stage.
Rumors have been swirling about the sex of the new bundle of joy since Beyoncé's close friend and former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland let it slip that "it" might be a "she."
"I have no idea what I'm going to buy Beyoncé at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible," she told told U.K. news agency Bang Showbiz. "She won't be spoiled, but she will be very well looked-after."
Fans are just as excited for Jay and B's bundle of joy. MTV News spoke to some of them recently, and many said that they expect the newborn to jump right to the top of the celebrity baby power list.
"A power baby, obviously," one fan said of the youngster's assumed superstar status, while another added, "It's gonna be a pretty cool baby, that's for sure. Probably gonna run New York City by the time he's 13 or 14."

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest bounced-back from a tough loss Friday night with a solid team effort on Sunday against Boston College, downing the Eagles 72-58.
The win was the first ACC victory of the season for the Demon Deacons, who are now 11-4 on the year and 1-1 in the conference. Boston College falls to 5-10 overall and 0-2 in the ACC.
After having just one player score in double-figures on Friday night, Wake had much better balance on Sunday, as six players scored between eight and 12 points. Lakevia Boykin, who scored a career-high 25 points against Duke, scored 12 points and recorded a career-high tying four steals on Sunday. Junior Asia Williams also finished with 12 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists.
The Deacons also got solid contributions from sophomore center Lindsy Wright and freshman wing Dearica Hamby. Wright grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and finished with 11 points while Hamby had nine points and three rebounds. Senior Secily Ray chipped-in with nine points and fellow senior Brooke Thomas finished with eight points and five assists.
For Boston College, sophomore Kristen Doherty was 4-of-5 from beyond the arc and finished with a season-high 24 points. She also grabbed seven rebounds, had three steals and one block. Deidra Smith added 11 points and Joy Caracciolo chipped-in with eight points and five boards.
Coming off its worst shooting performance of the season, Wake Forest shot nearly 60 percent in the decisive second half and finished the game 28-of-60 for 46.7 percent. The Deacons' pressure also forced BC into 25 turnovers, 18 of which came in the opening half. Wake Forest won the battle on the boards for just the fourth time this season, 37-29.
Both teams got off to slow starts as Wake made just six of its first 20 shots while BC had 12 turnovers in the first 12 minutes. With the Deacs in front 15-11, an old-fashioned three-point play by Thomas sparked an 11-2 Wake Forest run to give the Deacs a 26-13 lead with just over three minutes to play in the half.
Doherty ended the run with a jumper, which in turn sparked an Eagle run. Boston College finished the half on a 9-2 spurt, seven of which coming from Doherty, to make the score 28-22 heading into the break.
The Deacs shot just 36 percent in the opening half but forced 18 BC turnovers. Hamby paced Wake with seven points in the first half while Thomas chipped-in with five points and two assists.
The second half started with runs by both teams. The Deacs opened with a 12-0 run thanks to five points from Wright to take its largest lead of the game at 46-28 with 13 minutes to play. But BC answered with its own 14-4 run over the next three minutes to climb to within eight at 50-42 at the 9:47 mark.
Boykin ended the run with a jumper on the next Deacon possession to push the lead back to 10 and it remained in double-digits the rest of the way. The Eagles tried to mount a run but every time, the Deacons would answer with a bucket to seal at 72-58 victory.
Wake Forest will head out on the road for the first time in ACC play when it takes on Georgia Tech this Thursday, Jan. 12. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. from the Gwinnett Arena.
